Tim Page provided a quick update on digital solutions and myBLDR.com. He also highlighted the 24-episode series BFS has partnered on with Matt Risinger and the Build Show.

 

Bret Dewey gave an update on the port strike this month. The three-day strike caused major disruption for multiple ports, but the backlog should be cleaned up by the end of this month.

 

Jeff Rettig shared current product challenges with roofing & installation and imported millwork. He also shared that within BFS, we’ve added approximately 30-35% capacity in our BFS truss plants and another 12-15% capacity in our BFS door shops.

 

Ali Wolf provided great insights on current housing trends and affordability in the market. As we look across the housing landscape, they are still a lot of consumers on the sidelines. However, there has been a shift on active listings with September coming in at the highest point in 5 years, up 34% YoY. Ali also shared that resale competition hasn’t drastically impacted builders yet. While surveying builders, 49% said there is very little competition stemming from the resale market, 34% said a little, 16% moderate and 1% strong.
