During our October Market Intelligence Webinar, Tim Page gave an update on our investment of digital technologies that help create value for homebuilders. Jeff Rettig shared that BFS continues to invest our manufacturing capacity with BFS components, helping builders build more efficiently, build timelier and with less labor. Steve LaValley noted that most forecasters call for continued growth in residential construction and that BFS is partnering with key suppliers to best align with the needs of our customers in all market conditions.

Ali Wolf, Chief Economist with Zonda, provided insights on current housing trends and affordability in the market. The biggest change since we last spoke to Ali is interest rates, with rates increasing because of the Fed, inflation and market dysfunction. However, there are several factors working in favor of builders including low resale supply, old and expensive resale supply, QMI inventory to address those looking to move now and more. Some incentives to help seal the deal are mortgage rate buydowns and funds toward closing costs.
