During our October Market Intelligence Webinar, Ali Wolf kicked us off with the state of the housing market and wider economy. Ali shared that the lower third sales rate has the largest pool of people interested in buying but are showing the most significant pullback. Ali also highlighted the state of each region and went into further detail for select markets.

Steve Lavalley stated that OSB and lumber supply appears more abundant. Commodity prices are down YoY, but given the new cost structure, it is reasonable to expect the floor prices and breakeven levels to be higher than pre-pandemic.

Jeff Rettig shared that availability is steadily improving and will continue to improve over the next few quarters. Products that are more readily available include decking, siding, EWP, trusses, and READY-FRAME®.
